Practical Information

London is well-served by transport links, both for travelling to and from London within the UK, from Europe and the rest of the world, and for getting around the city.

UCL is located in the Bloomsbury district at the very centre of London. There are easy connections to UCL and the Bloomsbury area from London’s global hub airports at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, as well as from Luton and City airports and you will find that London’s extensive public transport system is convenient and easy to use. For more details see

We are presently negotiating preferential rates with hotels in the area. If the recommended hotels do not meet your needs, or if you are just keen to book a different hotel, then anything in the Russell Square and wider Bloomsbury areas will be within walkable distance to the venue. Euston and Kings Cross are also within 15 minutes walking distance to the venue. If you are keen to stay somewhere further away, the ‘Picaddily’, ‘Northern’, ‘Circle, Hammersmith, Metropolitan” or the Central tube lines will bring you into stations within walkable distance, as will any buses going towards Russell Square, Kings Cross or Euston (see public transport advice from Transport For London).
